Summer Art Camps

Full Day Camps
These fun summer art camps offered by Paint, Draw & More! are designed for students ages 5 - 13. Each day is comprised of a full day of creating fine art, some of which may include drawing, painting, mask making, sculpture, bookmaking, cartooning, collage, print making, and group projects. Story telling, music making and movement will also be added as time allows. Activities will take place in and out of doors depending on the weather. Students will explore a variety of mediums and be encouraged to break artistic boundaries and express their creativity in new and exciting ways. A compilation of the weeks activities may end up in an art show or small performance for the parents. During our camp session we will have a lunch break and play art and theater games.

These camps will run Monday through Friday. The classes are open to a maximum of nine (9) students per age group, per session, and students may sign up for continuous weeks and not repeat camp activities. The teaching staff is comprised of skilled area artists trained by Paint, Draw & More!

Parents please provide lunch, snack and smock for all camps listed below. Age groups 5 - 8 and 9 - 13.

Half Day Camps
The Paint, Draw & More! Summer Art Experience begins in July. Choose one of two Art Workshops a day, four days a week in our charming, air conditioned studio, centrally located in historic Georgetown, CT near Routes 7, 107, 57 and 53. All materials are included. Some fun projects include drawing, painting, mask making, bookmaking, cartooning, collage, print making, batik, mosaics, and sculpture, as well as art games and group projects. Students will be encouraged to break
artistic boundaries and express their creativity in
new and exciting ways. All students will experience multi-media, painting, sculpture, and illustration projects and learn to draw in a noncompetitive, success-oriented environment.

Fairfield Parks & Recreation

2 WEEKS / 2 DAYS A WEEK
SUMMER SESSIONS
Paint, Draw & More! Drawing Classes teach students to draw what they see, to enhance their drawings with their own ideas and concepts, and to use different materials in creative ways. The class environment is non competitive, creative and fun. The Program helps younger children to build their self-esteem through their drawing success and enhances hand eye coordination as well as spatial and color relationships. Older children are encouraged to break artistic boundaries by exploring the world of fine art and illustrative drawing by using various techniques and mediums. We will use pencil, pastels, charcoals, and paints to discover sketching and drawing, develop technique, and strengthen drawing fundamentals. A variety of projects will be explored to inspire creative thought while learning art history, spacial and color relationships, composition and more. Classes run 1&1/2 hours and meet four times.

Registration for the Summer Sessions will not take place until the Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department Summer brochure has been mailed to Fairfield residents on, or around April 26th. After April 26th, a Registration

Paint, Draw & More! Drawing Mixed Media
This mixed-media program teaches children to draw what they see, to enhance their drawings with their own ideas and concepts, and to use different materials in creative ways. Instruction will encourage personal drawing success, and children will complete multiple projects. Our instructor is an artist with Paint, Draw & More! studio in Redding. All materials are included.
